With proper care, your teeth can last an entire lifetime. As long as you keep your oral health in beautiful shape, you can keep your smile healthy for years to come. As we age, our body changes, which includes our smile. If you neglect your smile with common oral hygiene habits, you can be putting your smile at risk.

Here are some simple tips to keep your smile healthy and strong as you age:

-Visit your dentists regularly. If you visit your dentists every six months, you can keep your smile in healthy condition and correct small problems before they become large problems.
-Brush for two minutes a day, twice a day. Brushing will fight away the plaque and keep tartar from forming on the teeth and gumline.
-If you wear any dentures, always be sure to wash them each day. If you keep your dentures clean you can keep your gums healthy and strong.
-Always avoid any tobacco at all costs. Tobacco will create a serious threat to your oral health putting you at higher risk for oral cancer, as well as other health risks like lung cancer.
-Floss each day. If you floss between your teeth and along your gum line, you can keep cavities from forming and your smile in tip-top shape.

If you follow these tips and tricks as you age, you can keep your oral health in great condition during your life.
